
Prof. Ernest Kwaku Dumor was a Professor of Sociology and Development Studies. He taught in several universities in Africa and the United States of America. He served as one the Electoral Commissioners that planned and managed the the elections that ushered Ghana into democratic governance beginning in 1993. In 2001 he became the moving force in developing the national identification system for Ghana and creating the Authority to manage the system. He became the first and Founding Executive Secretary and Advisor to the Authority. Currently he serves as the Chair of the Komla Dumor Center for Broadcast Journalism at the African University College of Communication in Ghana.
