
Sam Esson Jonah is a frontline African/Ghanaian Businessman who at age 36 became the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Ashanti Goldfields Corporation and almost singularly supervised the transformation of Ashanti Goldfields into a mining giant producing 1.6 million ounces and getting registered as the first African to be registered on the New York Stock Exchange.
Following the merger of AngloGold and Ashanti Goldfields, Sam Jonah became President of AngloGold Ashanti, sharing the strategic leadership of the company with the then CEO.
Currently, he is Executive Chairman of Jonah Capital, an equity fund, based in Johannesburg South Africa.
Sir Sam Jonah serves on several international corporate entities including Vodafone and Global Advisory Council of the Bank of America.
